About the film

Area 51 wasn’t on the map until Bob Lazar put it there. The former government physicist went public in 1989 with his account of reverse-engineering an alien spacecraft for the U.S. military at the top-secret Air Force test facility in the Nevada desert. Lazar, who now runs a business in Michigan, went silent for three decades until filmmaker Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell tracked him down to reexamine Lazar’s claims and explain why Area 51 — and the otherworldly technology allegedly concealed there — still attracts so much public fascination. (Hint: aliens.) Narration by Mickey Rourke underscores the documentary’s gonzo appeal.
