“Lead and Copper” examines the water quality crisis that plagues the country by taking viewers to three afflicted cities: Flint, Newark and Washington D.C. Parents share the concerns for their children – for whom there is no safe level of lead consumption. Scientists press forward to expose the truth in these cities in the face of immense outside pressure. These struggles expose the fragility of America’s social, cultural and economic structures. From the birthplace of automobile giant General Motors, to New Jersey’s largest city, to the nation’s capital, no municipality is safe from the dangers of declining infrastructure. “Lead and Copper” shows how, in the face of this reality, citizen action is the catalyst for change.
